Well it is true, but it could also be a scam, if you don't know where to look.

There actually are companies that pay people to drive a car, by wrapping their cars in colorful advertisements.

In fact, there is a video by msnbc.com where they interview people who are making money every month by driving their own car. It's called Moms earn extra as roving billboards (there is a short ad before the clip starts)

You've seen them on the freeway, very colorful and eye-catching. If you are interested, read on...

While it is true that some companies do pay people every month to drive a car wrapped in advertisement, it is also true that there are certain conditions you have to meet in order to qualify. And most people do not qualify.

There are two ways most of the car wraps programs work:

- Either they give you a free car for you to drive -or-

- They pay you to drive your own car

They will wrap the car with a vinyl film that can be removed at the end of the program. Sometimes the ads are small (like on the sides of vehicles for example), and sometimes they wrap the entire car.

The amount of money you would get paid to drive cars varies by the size of the car wrap ad. Smaller car wrap ads do not pay as much as total vehicle wraps.

Also, it is very important wha kind of car you drive. If you drive an old car you probably won't have any chances of participating; but if you drive a car like a Volkswagen Beatle, PT Cruiser, Hummer and other SUVs you have much better chances of being considered.

In order to increase your chances of being approved, it will help if you:

- Drive your car in a highly populated area.
- Park for 8 hours or more in high traffic area.
- Are willing to drive your car on specific routes.
- Attend large events, sports, parades etc.
- Have no traffic violations.

If you are interested, you are welcome to apply, but let us warn you: it is not easy to get picked. Think about it, if it was easy, you would see many cars wrapped in ads every day, and there are not that many on the street. But you are welcome to apply. Also, make sure you don't have to pay up front any fees; it could be a scam or it may not be worth it since there are no guarantees that you will be approved, so why pay?
